Things are Changing

ICANN has approved the new gTLD program allowing any company to  who meets the qualifications to apply for their own domain name extension and own the Right Side of the Dot.

Since the 1st domain name was registered just over 25 years ago until now there are only 22 Top Level Domains (TLD). In several years there are expected to be hundreds, possibility thousands of new TLD’s as Cities, Global brands and entrepreneurs  from all around the world will be seeking to own their own extension and everything to the Right Of The Dot.

ICANN will start accepting applications for the new gTLD’s on January 12, 2012 for ONLY 4 months.

The application period for the 1st round will close on April 12, 2012 and the 2nd round of applications may not open for years.

The new gTLD program will be the biggest expansion of the Internet since its inception.
